Some of my favorite children’s books flow with rhythm and rhyme which makes reading to kids a blast! You can stop short on a rhyming word and the kids will fill in the blank and have just as much fun as you. Check these out..

Try using Magnetic Poetry words to build poems on the fridge.
Create shape poems. Use pictures or trace objects to contain your poem, or use the poem as the outline of the shape!
Keep a thesaurus handy! You may need the inspiration to find just the right word!

Instant Poetry is a great fill in the blank kind of book to get people started with poetry. The book has a few adult-themed lines so proceed with caution, but share the appropriate ones with the family and create some fun, silly fill in the blank poems!
