5 Spring Activities to Do with Baby
Bring the whole family outside to enjoy nature with these five spring activities to do with baby! Whether you’re just keeping your little one entertained or getting some exercise together, there are plenty of ways to keep the whole family happy and healthy as the weather gets warmer. Remember to wear sun protection, stay hydrated, and most importantly – have fun!
Go Outside
Not only will time in nature be great for you and baby, but it’ll also benefit her. Spending time outside can be fun for baby—especially as she gets older. Check out local parks and get familiar with your surroundings so you’re prepared for walks or hikes whenever baby is old enough to go. It’s a good idea to bring a blanket, just in case little one needs a snack or diaper change. While you can always take trips to visit friends or family, getting outdoors together is an important bonding experience that gives both of you exposure to new sights and sounds—and helps her strengthen his immune system, too! Look for places that require walking and sightseeing to make it much more fun for you both. Places such as a botanical garden, the tulip festival, or even the zoo are all fun places for babies to learn. Don't forget to bring your Ergobaby stroller and baby carrier so you can carry baby and when you get tired you can place her in her stroller.
Visit a Farm
Visiting a farm can be both fun and educational for your child. You’ll get to introduce your little one to all types of animals, but you’ll also be able to expose them to new smells, sounds, and sights in a setting that’s safe and enjoyable. Visiting a farm during springtime may allow you to see newborn babies or chicks just born! Farm visits are not only fun activities for parents with children, but they also provide adults with some much-needed Vitamin D. Make sure you wear sunscreen if you visit a farm in springtime!
Take family photos
Call your photographer and family, then head outside—the warmer weather brings with it a slew of photo-worthy activities. From picnics in local parks to trips to nearby lakes and ponds, spring is a time for putting down roots in new places. Of course, you don’t have to leave your house or even move at all—Spring is also an ideal time for taking photos with baby. Newborns do most of their growing during their first few months of life; months that often see colorful blooms bursting out of trees and flowers pushing their way through leafy buds. Take full advantage of these exciting moments by getting as many photos as possible in springtime attire such as tea dresses and Presley Couture’s girl’s rompers. Taking a photo during each season is a great way to document baby's milestones.
Plant Flowers
If you’re ready for some time outside, consider planting a small garden. It’s fun for both you and baby. You can take turns digging in the dirt and playing with toy gardening tools. When it’s time to harvest your vegetables, get out that veggie peeler and make dinner together. This is also a great time to add some curb appeal by planting your favorite flowers. You'll be knocking two things at once - having fun getting messy with baby and getting a house project done on your to-do list.
Fly a Kite
Ah, kites—those fun springtime activities for babies that are a little bit old-fashioned and a whole lot of fun. You can go with a classic diamond-shaped or heart-shaped kite, or opt for something fancier like a dragon or butterfly. We recommend going with nylon so it's lighter and easier to fly in moderate winds. Kites aren't just toys; they're beautiful works of art designed by true craftspeople. Your neighborhood park is likely one of those wonderful places where you can see dozens of them dangling from strings, dancing in the wind. Going out on a weekend afternoon and flying your own kite is not only a great way to bond with baby but also one that will give you both plenty of great memories for years to come.
Enjoy these activities with your baby. The things you do with them when they’re young will create lasting memories and an overall fun experience for years to come. You might even set up a trip in May or June for mother’s day or Father’s Day. Get out there and enjoy some time with your loved ones and watch their faces light up as they explore new things!
